PUBLICATION LAUNCH + SPECIAL PERFORMANCE!

This week (Wednesday, June 5th) I’ll be launching a series of one-of-a-kind artist’s books with Metalabel. To celebrate, we’ll be convening in person in NYC at 99 Canal (Fl 4) from 6-8pm. Come see them in person + a very special performance starring Maya Man, Mackenzie Thomas, and Maya Martinez. The performance is a sneak preview of a play I’ve been working on so you won’t want to miss it! Performance will begin at 7pm.

Now, a bit more about the mollysstuff project below:

mollysstuff is a series of 20 unique .zip folders, each containing 100 files, physically embodied as one-of-a-kind artist books.

The project pulls from over two decades worth of content I’ve accumulated. I lovingly hand-selected 2000 files from my assorted hard drives, computers, and online accounts and distributed them amongst 20 folders—like dropping party favors into little bags. Each folder houses 100 files: .jpegs, .gifs, .pdfs, .movs, .pngs, .mp3s + more.

The .zip folder is physically embodied as a *𝙪𝙣𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚* artist publication. Files are printed and assembled to create a binder. Videos are broken down into frames. Old webcam portraits become 4x6 keepsakes. Glitter graphics are printed on transparency paper. Spammy emails and Instagram ads litter the pages. Bound in an artist’s book, the files overlap and complicate each other, giving weight to often neglected digital content.
